The New Mexico Forest and Watershed Health Plan: An Integrated Collaborative Approach to Ecological Restoration

The Forest and Watershed Health Plan was collaboratively developed by a planning committee of nearly 70 representatives from a wide variety of government agencies, citizen stakeholders, and other experts involved in ecological restoration efforts across New Mexico. The central goal is returning our environment to healthy functioning condition and restoring resiliency of natural processes, such as wildfire and drought, so that social and economic values may be preserved. The Plan describes a consensus vision, guiding principles and specific recommendations to address the primary concerns and needs.
