2011 CARE grants Request for Proposals
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is making approximately $2 million available in 2011 to reduce pollution at the local level through the Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) program. CARE is a community-based program that works with county and local governments, tribes, non-profit organizations and universities to help the public understand and reduce toxic risks from numerous sources. Five Star Restoration Grants Request for Proposals
The Five Star Restoration Grant Program, an initiative from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, supports community-based wetland, riparian and coastal habitat restoration projects throughout the United States. One-year grants from $10,000 to $25,000 and two-year grants from $10,000 to $40,000 will be awarded to projects that build diverse partnerships and foster stewardship through education, outreach and training activities. Projects must include meaningful education through community outreach and/or integration with K-12 environmental curriculum. Partnerships should include at least five organizations (nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, businesses, etc.) that contribute to project success through funding, land, workforce support, technical support or other in-kind services. Central Services/Media Prep Technician will formulate buffers, media and other aqueous solutions for use in manufacturing processes and experiments. This individual will conduct in-process testing, including pH, conductivity, and temperature measurements, as needed in solution preparation.
