A new framework for evaluating human influences on wildfires is developed

The NFPA has a new website for home/landowners for their Fire Adapted Communities program.

The NM Fire Info website is an interagency effort by federal and state agencies in New Mexico to provide timely, accurate fire and restriction information for the entire state. The agencies that support this site are National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, State of New Mexico, Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management. It provides FAQs and resources for New Mexicans living near fire-prone environments, plus current information on wildland fires, prescribed burns, restrictions and closures in the state.

The mission of the Colorado Forest Restoration Institute (CFRI) is to enhance the capacities of Colorado's land managers, landowners, collaborative forest health partnerships, and communities to mitigate forest wildfire risk to communities and improve forest resilience.

The ERI is nationally recognized for mobilizing the unique assets of a university to help solve the problem of unnaturally severe wildfire and degraded forest health in the region. The ERI works to help land management agencies and communities by providing comprehensive focused studies, monitoring and evaluation research, and technical support.

Forests and Rangelands is a portal to information about the Federal Wildland Fire Management Policy and related initiatives. Forests and Rangelands is a cooperative effort between the United States Department of the Interior (DOI), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and their land management agencies.

This Field Guide is designed to help resource managers understand the changes in procedures and processes under the HFI and HFRA. It briefly summarizes the various HFI tools that have become available. The guide does not address all HFI tools directly. Its primary focus is on the expedited processes provided in Title I of the HFRA for hazardous-fuel treatment on NFS and BLM lands.
