Over the past decade, New Mexico has learned to adapt and live with drought. We use water more efficiently. We conserve. We do more with less. We all have gained first-hand experience in dealing with water shortages. And now, we have an opportunity to share our insight with our counterparts from across the country and around the globe.

The Workshop will bring together managers and researchers from multiple resource agencies and academia to share information and provide feedback on fuels treatments in the Southwest.

This project demonstrates how river ecosystem improvements can be accomplished within the reality of a very limited water supply. The Pecos River is both a natural and historic legacy. It is our hope that current and future generations will be able to enjoy and learn from the restored Pecos River at Bitter Lake NWR, a window into the areas' rich history.
